WALL TOWNSHIP — The Wall Township Committee discussed resolutions related to transportation, infrastructure, and affordable housing during their meeting on Wednesday night.
As a part of their consent agenda, the committee authorized the purchase of two new trucks for the Department of Public Works. They also passed a resolution [Res 22-024] authorizing the execution of a construction agreement with the New Jersey Department of Transportation [NJDOT] to undertake “the replacement” of Route 35 from Old Bridge Rd. to Route 34/70.
The committee also authorized the conversion of existing affordable housing rental units to affordable units for sale at 1809 Atlantic Avenue, which is currently owned by the developer Sea Glass on Atlantic, LLC.
This authorization succeeds the township’s 2020 developer’s agreement, which established that the developer must oblige to “deed restrict the for sale age restrictive affordable units (with 20% set aside) for a period of at least 30 years” to comply with the township’s state-mandated affordable housing obligation, as pursuant to the Mount Laurel Doctrine.
