POINT PLEASANT — Point Pleasant High School senior Ella Graul was appointed as the first-ever student representative to the Point Pleasant High School Board of Education at Monday, Sept. 19’s meeting.
Ella said, “It is an honor to be chosen to be the Student Representative for the Board of Education.”
“For me, it means giving a voice to the whole student body while decisions are being made that directly affect us more than any other population. For the first time ever, there will be a direct line of correspondence between the Board of Education and their students. I hope that my appointment encourages students to get involved in local politics to continue to get their voices heard throughout their lives,” said Ella.
According to the board of education, senior students applied for the position and interviewed with Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Adam Angelozzi, and Director of School Counseling, Ms. Nicole Hankins. In addition, two members of the Student Council assisted in the interview process.
