SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS — The Mayor and Council are hosting a presentation by Monmouth County Division on Aging, Disabilities, and Veterans Services on Disaster Preparedness for residents to attend.
Free Ready Go Bags will be distributed to eligible Spring Lake Heights residents, with information and resources on managing disasters.
The presentation will be on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cornelius V. Kelly Community Center, 902 Ocean Road, Spring Lake Heights.
According to the town council, the presentation is best suited for individuals who consider themselves frail, seniors aged 60 and older, and persons with disabilities of any age who may feel or foresee the need for assistance in evacuating during a disaster.
Additionally, caregivers of any age caring for anyone of any age are encouraged to attend and receive a Ready Go Bag for a care recipient.
All participants will have the option to enroll in Register Ready. This will provide police with your specific needs during an evacuation.
Walk-Ins are welcome, but an RSVP would be appreciated. Residents interested in attending can call (732)-449-3500 to register and bring an ID and an emergency contact phone number.
Established by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners in 1975, the Office on Aging utilizes federal, state and county funds to develop programs and partnerships to deliver essential services to the seniors of Monmouth County.
