BRICK TOWNSHIP — The CulleyStrong Foundation, a Brick-based nonprofit organization, has announced that it will bring back its You Are Not Alone 5K walk and run for a second year.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 at 9 a.m. at the Wall Township athletic field at the municipal complex on Allaire Road.According to representatives of the CulleyStrong Foundation, the 5K is for both serious and casual runners, with other participants more than welcome to walk the 3.1 miles.
James Clabby, a representative from the foundation, said that 100 percent of the profits will go towards CulleyStrong’s mission to support those with mental health issues, just as they did last year.
“Our first annual charity 5K event last year was very successful and allowed the foundation to do things to fulfill its mission, including purchasing service dogs for local veterans and others that are struggling with mental health issues,” Mr. Clabby said.
Participants may register for the event at raceforum.com/culleystrong, or by phoning 732-539-1286.
The registration fee for the race only is $35; and it’s $45 for those who want to join both the race and the afterparty BBQ at Harpoon Willy’s, at 2655 River Road in Wall Township. The extra $10 for the afterparty covers the first beer and a race bib and features drink specials and race menu, according to the foundation’s website. The afterparty is set for 11 a.m.
The first 400 registered runners will receive a special T-shirt.
Volunteers are also needed, and can sign up to help out at culleystrongfoundation.com.
