MANASQUAN — The estimated completion date for the new fieldhouse at Manasquan High School has now been pushed back to July 8.
Robert Notley, of New Road Construction Management, which is overseeing the project, provided the board with a construction update on the new $5.9 million indoor athletic facility being built by H&S Construction and Mechanical Inc. of Elizabeth.
Erection of the steel columns and spandrels has been completed by a subcontractor, Mr. Notley said. The concrete slab for the building has been poured, he told the board. The stormwater retention system and perimeter drainage piping have been installed; and utility service connections to the street have been completed. Painters have been painting the structural steel, he added.
“Work planned for the next month is the installation of the siding and metal roof,” he said, to be followed by installation of interior insulation, windows and doors.
