BRICK TOWNSHIP — The Brick Farmers Market, a seasonal event beloved by the community, is set to return to Windward Beach Park on Saturday, May 7. The market will be open every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until Sept. 24.
According to Brick’s website, the farmers market is “committed to providing a venue where local farmers, producers, artisans and crafters provide a variety of fresh produce and related products directly to the community. The market inspires open communication between consumers and growers, promotes buying fresh and eating local, and promotes nutritious food choices.”
This year, more than 50 vendors will attend the market’s opening day including; BBQ on Wheels Catering, which sells smoked chicken, pork ribs and smoked turkey breast; Sweet Spot Donuts, which sells mini donuts with unique toppings; and Abraham’s Landscape Design & Nursery, who sells a variety of plants, flowers and shrubs.
Established in 2015, the Brick Farmer’s Market has become a staple in the community ever since. It is funded in part by a grant from the Ocean County Board of Commissioners.
“You can come by every Saturday and buy a variety, you can pretty much stock up for the week,” said Brick Township employee Ed Moroney. “We have fruits, vegetables, pastries, cookies, brownies, dog treats, cheeses, coffees, pretty much everything you could want.
“There’s hand crafted goods,” he added. “There’s jewelry and all that kind of good stuff.”
