MANASQUAN — The Manasquan Tourism Commission is expecting an outstanding summer season and beyond this year.
“We have a full slate of events. I think 2022 will really be a banner year for Manasquan,” following a so-so year 2021 and washout in 2020 due to the pandemic, said commission member Jamie Biesiada.
The festivities begin with the Summer Kickoff Cocktail Party on Wednesday, May 25 at Leggett’s Sand Bar, 217 First Ave.
“We started that a few years prior to the pandemic. It’s fun. A lot of people come to town for it and locals attend as well. It’s a nice way to kick off the season,” Ms. Biesiada said.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and several free drawings throughout the night for ticket-holders. “We’re giving away six Manasquan beach badges and two of the highly coveted parking passes. It’s always a very high-energy event, so we are very glad to bring that back this year,” she said.
Other events planned include the patriotic bike parade on July 2; Thursday night concerts at Main Beach; kayak, canoe and paddleboard races on Aug. 13; a Labor Day weekend concert and fireworks at Main Beach on Sept. 3; downtown Main Street holiday festival on Dec. 4; and the Holiday House Tour on Dec. 10.
