MANASQUAN — The Manasquan High School Alumni Foundation has launched an 18-month campaign, A Celebration of the Arts, through March of 2023 in which the group aims to revitalize the arts at the high school. The foundation’s first undertaking is turning the Jack Nicholson Theatre into a state of the art, multi-use theater.

The foundation’s desire to improve the arts at Manasquan High School has been a long time coming and something the board of 15 is thrilled about, according to president Rob Schatzman.

“We really want to do everything we can to reinvigorate the arts,” he said.

Mr. Schatzman said the foundation also wants to give the Manasquan community an opportunity to support the arts by participating in fundraising events.

The foundation’s first event to kick off the arts campaign is A Celebration of the Arts Holiday Concert in December. All proceeds of the event will go towards improving the theater.

“The idea is, based on the money we raise, the first priority is the theater,” Mr. Schatzman said, “and there’s a number of things we hope to achieve in the theater.”
