SPRING LAKE — The borough council introduced an ordinance Tuesday night that proposes several changes to the land development chapter of the borough code.
Proposed changes include amendments to the definitions of deck, dormer, half story and patio; amendments to the section regarding the R1, R2 and R3 Residential Zones; and amendments to the section regarding private garages.
The biggest change noted in the ordinance is the reduction in principal building coverage in the R1, R2 and R3 Zones from 25 percent to 20 percent, as well as the addition of 5 percent to a lot’s maximum impervious coverage for a front porch.
During the public participation portion of the meeting, Patty Carfora, of Atlantic Avenue, urged the council to reconsider the ordinance, specifically the reduction in building coverage.
