MANASQUAN — Squan Beach Life Saving Station will participate in the annual Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey on Saturday, Oct. 16, and Sunday, Oct. 17.
The challenge is a two-day event that gives participants an opportunity to visit 10 land-based lighthouses, one museum and three life saving stations. The Squan Beach Life Saving Station will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
The event encourages exploration and helps raise funds for the preservation, education and restoration of the sites including in the challenge.
Participants will be asked to pay a $4 registration fee at the first stop they visit, and will be given a frameable collage of all the sites on the challenge. Children 11 years and younger may participate for free with an adult.
