BRADLEY BEACH  — There have been several updates made to the borough’s beachfront thus far this year, and additional updates are planned for the remainder of the year.

60 beach lockers have been added this year, with 550 lockers in total currently.

Additional mobi mats for patrons to walk up and down to the beach were also added to go in front of the lockers and down to the beach.

On the promenade, new playground equipment was added along with cold water stations in four places along the beachfront. “We added these cold water stations which we’re going to keep open as long as we can, and we enhanced the playground,” stated Mayor Larry Fox. “We see runners using [the cold water stations] all the time, we’re really happy about people really liking those this year.”

Last winter a restroom in the middle of the borough, on La Reine Avenue, was winterized. “Basically, you had to walk from Asbury to Spring Lake if you wanted to make a pit stop, during the winter all the bathrooms are shut. The Jersey Shore running club has given us all kinds of shout outs because they usually run between Asbury and Spring Lake so they were real happy with this,” said Mayor Fox.
