MANASQUAN — Main Street will be bustling with activity next Wednesday, July 21, when live music and an array of classic cars return for the borough’s shop-and-dine pedestrian zone.
The Meet Me on Main Street Car Show is presented by the Manasquan Chamber of Commerce. Two shows have been held thus far and the final car show of the summer is slated for Aug. 18.
The concert series is presented by the chamber along with the Algonquin Arts Theatre.
Wednesday’s concert will feature a performance by the Ocean Avenue Stompers, “a NOLA influenced brass band with the sounds of Jersey Shore rock ‘n’ roll, Philly soul, and NYC’s finest,” according to the Algonquin.
The band, which was established in 2016 in Asbury Park, is led by Manasquan native Ian Gray.
The concert lineup for the rest of the summer is as follows: Marc Ribler & John Perry on July 28; Zack Alexander on Aug. 4; Four Shore Strings on Aug. 11; Dan Levinson & Friends on Aug. 18; The Guthrie Brothers on Aug. 25; and John Rogers Soul Band on Sept. 1.
Concerts take place on Main Street near the intersection with Pearce Avenue beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees should bring their own chair.
As opposed to previous weeks, the July 21 concert will be on Pearce Avenue facing Main Street to accommodate the chamber’s car show.
