POINT PLEASANT — The Kiwanis Club of Point Pleasant is selling car magnets as part of its “My Jersey Shore” fundraiser, as well as an expression of community pride.

“We always try to keep in mind things people can really use and we know that people at the Jersey Shore take a lot of pride in their individual towns,” said Kiwanis Club President Kristen Fischer.

“And we know everybody has a favorite destination, so our plan is to roll out magnets for several areas, starting with Point Pleasant Beach.”

The premium, outdoor-grade magnets, which say “Point Pleasant Beach is My Jersey Shore,” cost $5 and can be purchased online at https://www.pointpleasantkiwanis.org/myjerseyshore.

The two-by-five-inch magnets were designed by Northeast Sign and Lighting in Point Pleasant Borough.

“They came up with the design for this, so we were honored to keep things local and support a local business and we are really hoping people see this and really identify with it,” Ms. Fischer said.

Buyers will need to register on a Google form and pay via Venmo to @pointpleasantkiwanis. All proceeds support the club, and more magnets featuring other Jersey Shore towns will be rolled out shortly.

“We have them out in a couple places, including Haven’s Sweet Shop and Barefoot Real Estate, or you can purchase them online,” Ms. Fischer said. “And we have been delivering them to people in Point Beach.”

Buyers can also opt to have them shipped direct, she said.

Ms. Fischer said Point Pleasant Borough residents are already asking when their version of the magnets will be available.

“So it will be our next town,” she said.
