BRICK TOWNSHIP — A pedestrian was struck and killed as she crossed Route 70 at Olden Street on Monday night, according to the Brick Township Police Department.

Brick Township resident Kathleen M. Winits, 55, attempted to cross Route 70 just prior to 7 p.m., going towards the Brick Motor Inn motel, Sgt. Jim Kelly said in a statement.

Ms. Winits crossed Route 70 against the pedestrian crossing signal and was not in the crosswalk, according to police, when an eastbound 2020 Mercedes C300 approached the intersection with a green light.
