MANASQUAN – The Manasquan girls basketball team completed a sweep of Manchester on Thursday with a 47-35 victory against the Hawks.
Manchester had knocked the Warriors out of the state tournament two years in a row, but in the two games against the Hawks this season Manasquan never trailed.
The Warriors took a big lead on Thursday, jumping out to a 15-2 advantage. The Hawks, led by North Carolina bound senior Destiny Adams never cut the Warriors lead to single digits for the remainder of the game.
The Manasquan defense held the high-powered Hawks offense which had scored 60 points or more in every game this season to 10 points at halftime.
The Warriors were led by Mary Donnelly who had 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Brooke Hollawell had 13 points. Dorothy Loffredo had eight points and 10 rebounds and Maci Black had six assists for the Warriors.
