BRICK TOWNSHIP — Phase Two of the Brick Township Public School District’s restart and recovery plan will take effect Monday, Feb. 22, Superintendent of Schools Thomas Farrell announced Tuesday, in a letter to parents published online.

Phase Two will allow kindergarten through fifth-grade students to move to a four-day, in-person early-dismissal schedule, or remain on virtual instruction.

“Further details are forthcoming from the Principals,” Superintendent Farrell’s letter reads. “After monitoring the initial Phase 2 with elementary students, it is our hope that Middle Schools and High Schools will begin Phase 2 a few weeks later.”

The district set an initial, tentative start date in mid-November 2020. However, a subsequent uptick in COVID-19 cases within the district nixed that plan, and on Jan. 21, Superintendent Farrell reported implementation of Phase Two was suspended indefinitely.
