Shohfi, Zylinski prep for sixth terms on school board

LAVALLETTE — Longtime school board incumbents Alison Zylinski and Steve Shohfi effectively secured another three-term each Tuesday night, when the initial results of their uncontested election were reported by the Ocean County Elections Board.

Mr. Shohfi is a member of the board’s personnel, academic, extracurricular and buildings and grounds committees. He also serves as the Lavallette sending district representative on the Point Pleasant Beach Board of Education and president of the New Jersey School Boards Association. He also sits on the executive committee of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, which governs and regulates high school sports in New Jersey. Both candidates have served five full terms on the Lavallette school board.
