BRICK TOWNSHIP — Officials paved the way for road work in Parkway Pines and bulkhead repairs throughout Brick’s waterfront areas on Tuesday night, as the town council authorized bids awarded to the projects’ respective contractors.
Clarksburg-based contractor Meco, Inc. will perform the Parkway Pines road improvements for $301,579.25. The project, according to Mayor John Ducey, “consists of drainage improvements and roadway rehabilitation to correct drainage and other issues.”
“The scope of work includes Stephen Road from Burnt Tavern Road to Lanes Mill Road and Neil Avenue, from Burnt Tavern Road to Stephen Road,” he continued. “Bid notices were provided to 67 prospective bidders and 12 of those requested bid packages. Out of those 12 … seven bids were submitted, with prices ranging from the low bid of $301,579.25 to $497,350.80.”
