Manasquan sets planning board hearing for Broad Street project

MANASQUAN — The planning board has scheduled a hearing for next week to discuss an application made by Broad Street 34, LLC proposing the construction of housing units on Broad Street.

The hearing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Instructions to access the virtual meeting will be posted in the planning board agenda, available on the borough website two days prior to the hearing.

The applicant is seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval to demolish the existing structures at 34, 36, 40 and 44 Broad Street for the construction of 22 market rate residential apartments within a multi-family building, according to a notice from the planning board.

At that site the applicant proposes landscaping, lighting, drainage, parking, striping, utilities and other related improvements typical of a multi-family development.

The notice states that the applicant is also proposing the construction of affordable units at 33, 33 ½ and 38 Union Avenue. The Union Avenue project will not be discussed next week as it is a separate application that will require its own hearing.
