Application to open for Wall’s new senior affordable housing

WALL TOWNSHIP — Pre-applications for the new Allenwood Terrace apartments, an affordable-housing complex for people ages 55 and over, will be accepted beginning Thursday, Oct. 1. The complex is expected to be completed by mid-November.

The “express” pre-application form can be found on a new website,, launched by the developer, The Richman Group. A link to the website also is available on municipal website,

The form is a preliminary application only, to determine if potential tenants qualify. It should be filled out and mailed to Allenwood Apartments, 2101 Allenwood Road, Wall Township NJ 07719. The pre-applications must have a postmark of Oct. 1 or a later date; no application will be accepted prior to Oct. 1. There is a $50 fee to apply.


Rental eligibility will be determined by income, as the new complex is part of Wall Township’s court-mandated affordable-housing agreement. The monthly rents will range from $524 to $1,125, according to the website.

Information about amenities and floor plans are available on the website. The new complex will have 85 units, including seven studios, 71 one-bedroom units and seven two-bedroom units.

The building amenities, according to the website, include elevators, an on-site laundry center, WiFi hotspots, resident computers, a professional fitness center, 24-hour emergency maintenance, a resident referral program, and community social, recreational and education programs.

Apartment amenities include air-conditioning, walk-in closets, microwaves, dishwashers and vinyl plank flooring.
