Summer recreation schedule announced


POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant Recreation Department has announced its schedule of programs for the summer season, which will bring community members together to enjoy a variety of activities both outdoors and online.

Adult Yoga Classes are open to the beginner through the intermediate student. Learn the foundations of yoga and leave feeling a sense of calm, release and an overall sense of greater well-being.


During the Tai Chi/ Qigong class, learn how to build stamina and proper circulation for a healthy immune system. Through seated, standing and combination routines, learn how minding breath and posture will help keep attention in the present moment and assist in inducing relaxation to balance the nervous system.

Fitness with Sandy classes, including low impact cardio, hi and low cardio and reciprocal stretch class will be held online for eight weeks. Classes are for those ages 16 and up.

A new Virtual Magic Camp will be held for children ages 8 to 12, where they will learn how to make objects pass through other solid objects, find hidden magical treasures, create a unique way to sniff out a volunteer’s card and much more. The young magicians will also learn and practice the eight traits of a true magician.

During Crime Scene Investigation Class, students will lift and identify fingerprints, cast footprints, process a mock crime scene and much more. Topics such as DNA, biology, trajectory and blood splatter will also be covered.
