WALL TOWNSHIP – Another member of the Wall Township Board of Education has resigned, bringing to five the number who have left so far this year.

Michael McArthur is the most recent board member to resign, on Monday, Aug. 26.

Board member Tennant Magee Sr. resigned in March; Allison Connolly, who had served as board president this year, resigned on Aug. 8; and Robin Zawodniak, who had served as vice president, and member Dori Molloy both resigned during the board’s Aug. 20 meeting.

Two of the vacancies have been filled, and the board has advertised for candidates to fill the remaining three. When full, the board has nine members. It currently has six members serving.

Mr. McArthur, whose term ends January 2021, said he resigned because he can no longer devote enough time to the board due to various aspects of his personal life and a change in his work schedule.

“It’s not fair to the other board members if I can’t commit the time. It was a very hard decision to make,” he said.
