LAKE COMO — Councilman John Carvelli officially resigned from his position on the council at the Tuesday, Aug. 6, Borough of Lake Como Council meeting.

Mr. Carvelli, who submitted his resignation via a letter to the council, said, “In light of my recent move out of Lake Como, I unfortunately must resign from my council position. It has been an absolute honor and a privilege to represent the residents of Lake Como and serve under three different mayors.”

Former councilman Carvelli was originally sworn in during November 2013 and served on the council for nearly six years. He had originally filled the vacancy created by the resignation of former councilman Jared Cohen in 2013.

Mr. Carvelli would go on to run for and win election to a three-year council term in 2014. He won re-election to another three-year term in 2017, which he resigned from on Tuesday.
