BRICK TOWNSHIP — Police and firefighters responded to an accident at the CVS Pharmacy on Burnt Tavern Road Wednesday morning where a vehicle plowed into the entrance of the building, according to first responders.
Members of the Laurelton Fire Company No. 1 were at the scene of the crash at 9 a.m. removing the sliding entry doors which were damaged in the accident. A part of the brick facade of the building, as well as a window, were also damaged in the crash.
“We just have a little bit of a structural issue right now and we are trying to shore up the building so nothing comes down on a member of the public,” Paul Mazzeo, chief of the fire company, said on Wednesday morning, adding the rest of the building was structurally safe. He estimated the accident occurred at around 8:45 a.m.
Police have not yet responded to requests for additional information about the accident.
