AVON-BY-THE-SEA — Even as cloudy skies threatened rain, hundreds gathered on the front lawn of St. Elizabeth of Hungary on Friday, Aug. 3, to watch young churchgoers celebrate their week in Vacation Bible School [VBS].
For over 30 years, the VBS at St. Elizabeth of Hungary has been a popular week in the summer for the church’s young parishioners. This year had one difference, the addition of Church of the Ascension.
With the newly formed St. Teresa of Calcutta, children from the combined parish come together for the first time for St. Elizabeth’s annual Bible school, according to VBS Co-Director Laura Connell.
The VBS was held from Monday, July 30, until Friday, Aug. 3, this year, with the school’s show held on the last day.
This performance showcases all the songs the students learn during their week at the camp.
