SPRING LAKE — Water main work in the south end of the borough may temporarily cause temporary discoloration of residents’ water, borough officials announced.
The work is part of the borough’s ongoing water infrastructure project.
According to an alert sent out by the borough, if residents are experiencing brownish water, “please turn on the cold water in your bathtub and allow it to run until the water clears. Avoid running hot water or using your washing machine until the water clears.”
Mayor Jennifer Naughton also addressed the issue at the borough council meeting Tuesday night.
The mayor said the work should be complete within the next two weeks.
