It’s that time of year again, the time for beer. Now that the holidays are over and winter is well underway, it’s time for “Cheers to Beers” at the annual Asbury Park Beerfest. On Saturday, Jan. 27, and Sunday, Jan. 28, the Beerfest will be taking over Asbury Park’s Convention Hall.
NEW YEAR, SAME TRADITION
The Asbury Park Beerfest started in 2011 and, as in prior years, will include three sessions over the course of the two-day event held the weekend before the Super Bowl.
This beer lovers’ paradise is presented by the Asbury Park Boardwalk and 95.9 FM WRAT Radio.
There will be a noon to 4 p.m. session as well as a session from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday will be reserved for one session from noon to 4 p.m.
Beer fanatics ages 21 and over can expect craft beers, ciders, retro beers, classic boardwalk food and tasting glasses. Craft beers on tap will come from breweries in New Jersey as well as around the country.
According to the WRAT Radio website, this year’s Beerfest will bring back the Gluten Free Cider bar, Your ‘Ol Man’s Beer bar and Beer Muscles competition.
However, the event is never exactly the same, so beer lovers can expect more surprises this year.
TONS OF BEER AND TONS OF FUN
Whichever session you choose to attend, you can expect a huge turnout and plenty of vendors of food and beer alike. Attend as a group in costumes or team shirts or craft a pretzel necklace to wear around your neck so you can snack while you sip.
Each year the event becomes bigger and more popular so whether you attend every year or you’re new to the tradition, the Asbury Park Beerfest should definitely be marked on your calendar.
PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY
