HAMILTON TWP. – The Wall football team outlasted Steinert, 49-41, on Saturday afternoon in an absolutely wild affair in the first round of the Central Jersey Group III state playoffs.
Brady McNally rushed 33 times for 344 yards and five touchdowns to help carry his team to a win.
Wall led Steinert, 35-7 at halftime, but the Spartans scored 28 points in the third quarter to make it a one-possession game headed into the final quarter.
However, a touchdown run by McNally and a crucial offside penalty by Steinert late in the game thwarted the comeback effort and allowed the Knights to advance to the semifinals this Friday at Rumson-Fair Haven.
