Christie Rampone makes holiday donations to Fulfill

MANASQUAN — World Cup champion, gold medalist and former United States captain Christie Pearce Rampone, a Manasquan resident and former Point Pleasant Boro High School star, helped donate 2,000 turkeys and 2,000 pounds of fresh produce to Fulfill, formerly the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Ms. Pearce Rampone joined ShopRite to make the donation, the last one on the company’s delivery route for their annual holiday donations to local food banks.

“I’m really excited to be here today to help ShopRite provide good, nutritious food to our neighbors in need, and I’m thankful for partners like Fulfill food bank and the great work they do to help feed people and fight food insecurity in Ocean and Monmouth counties,” said Ms. Pearce Rampone.

Dietitians from the Fulfill food bank and ShopRite joined Ms. Pearce Rampone to provide tips on how to prepare the food that was donated and turn it into healthy holiday meals.

Ms. Pearce Rampone brought her daughters, Reece and Rylie, along with her to help unload the truck full of food.

Including the donation made to Fulfill, ShopRite donated a grand total of 60 tons of turkey to Feeding America food banks across six states.

“Fighting hunger in the community is at the heart of ShopRite’s charitable giving, and ShopRite’s annual donation of 60 tons of turkeys to food banks means that thousands of families in need will have the opportunity to sit down to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner,” said Christine Magyarits, ShopRite’s Community Relations Manager.
