POINT PLEASANT BEACH — After an act of vandalism at Pleasure Park, borough officials are discussing the possibility of deploying video cameras around town.

“The idea is that we want to expand our video surveillance and we want to put some cameras in the Pleasure Park area,” Police Chief Joseph Michigan said at a recent council meeting.

“It would be one of the many areas we want to expand our video surveillance.”

According to Borough Administrator Christine Riehl, on Sept. 18 the tennis court nets were vandalized, the nets were ripped, cables pulled from their binding and the stakes that hold them upright were “removed and strewn” about.
