BRICK TOWNSHIP — It was a nostalgic evening the Brick Township High School class of 1977 gathered for their 40th high school reunion, reliving their glory days if only for a night.
The class of ‘77 gathered at the Spring Lake Manor on Friday, Aug. 25, armed with letterman jackets, newspaper clippings, class photos and football helmets, eager to reconnect with their former classmates.
“Honestly, I can’t understand how anybody doesn’t love high school,” said BTHS grad Sandi Zalinsky, now of Spring Lake, who served as student council president for her class.
The reunion, organized by class of ‘77 member Laura Lee DePasquale, now of Point Pleasant Beach, drew over 50 graduates from New Jersey and beyond, with some returning home for the first time in years.
“I haven’t been back since 1990,” said class of 1977 class president Vicky Heston, who now lives in Kansas. “It makes me cry thinking about it. It’s so good seeing everybody. We all look so different, but it’s good to remember and go back to the old days.”
