BRIELLE — The traffic plan for Waypoint 622, which includes additional parking at the adjacent Hoffman’s Marina, provides adequate parking to support the restaurant’s bid for a variance, according to John Rea, the traffic engineer testifying for Waypoint at the Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting Aug. 29.
According to Mr. Rea, just 91 parking spaces are necessary for Waypoint 622. With Waypoint’s 42 parking spaces and Hoffman’s providing at least 50, according to previous testimony by a professional planner, ample parking would be provided between the two lots, he said.
Waypoint is before the board seeking a variance because the restaurant does not have the required 91 parking spaces on its property to accommodate seating for over 200 people.
According to Mr. Rea, principal in McDonough and Rea Associates, the main hours of operation for Waypoint 622 and the other businesses on the site are different and for this reason, they could share parking spaces.
Mr. Rea gave his testimony on the parking impact at Waypoint 622, Hoffman’s Marina, on Green Avenue, and surrounding streets.
