BELMAR— The sixth annual Beach Music Festival will hit the beach on Tuesday, Aug. 29 with four local bands at 6 p.m. at 5th Avenue Beach, near the Taylor Pavilion.
The event is free and open to the general public.
“Everybody comes, brings a beach chair, and hangs out,” said festival organizer Danny White.
The show starts at 6 p.m. and ends at about 9 p.m. Cruz Cafe, located at the Taylor Pavilion, will be open for food and drinks.
“We get a wide age range for each band,” Mr. White said. This year’s bands will include the Beach Music Rock Band, The Sunday Blues, Shore Blue and Mr. White’s band, Danny White & Brand, which plays every year and will kick off the music festival.
“The first hundred people there get a free t-shirt,” Mr. White said, “Each year the design changes slightly, and some people have collected them all. And kids get free glowsticks, so if they’re running around on the beach their parents can keep track of them. And it looks pretty cool when the sun goes down and everybody has glow-stick.
