AVON-BY-THE-SEA — A special gathering will be held Monday, Aug. 28 in celebration of Timothy Gallagher, longtime borough clerk and administrator, as he approaches his last week before retirement.
“We’re inviting the town or anyone that has a relationship with the administrator to give him a farewell send off,” said Mayor John Magrini.
The celebration will be held at the conclusion of [the Aug. 28] board of commissioners meeting, the final meeting Mr. Gallagher will attend as an employee of the borough.
The meeting will be held in a different location than normal, taking place at the Avon-By-The-Sea Municipal Building, at 301 Main St., and will begin at 7 p.m.
The reception will have light refreshments.
“It’s been a pleasure … He brings a lot of knowledge and experience in the role of business administrator and he has been able to teach me and guide me through the process,” said Mayor Magrini.
Mr. Gallagher will work his last day Sept. 1, passing the position of borough administrator to Kerry McGuigan.
