August is the final month of summer, making it kind of like the Sunday of the weekend: You know the end is near, but you want to enjoy every last drop of what is left. Labor Day celebrates the end of another summer season, so why not end your summer with a bang and check out these fun festivities, events and races.
Many towns hold their own summer finale celebrations, such as Manasquan’s Labor Day Celebration.
There will be a special concert on Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Beach and fireworks will light up the sky to end the show, and summer, typical Shore fashion.
Spring Lake will also be hosting its own Labor Day event.
The Labor Day End of Summer Celebration and Art Walk will take place Sept. 2, visitors can enjoy the day strolling through the Third Avenue Business District while taking in works of art created by local artists.

The Bacon, Bikes and Brew Festival at the Historic Village at Allaire in Farmingdale will be held Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Spend the day enjoying craft vendors, live bands, children’s activities, a beer tent and food trucks serving up goodies that are themed all things bacon.

Take part in another annual festival with a similar theme. Monmouth Park’s BBQ and Craft Beer Festival. The three-day event will run from Sept. 2 through 4 in Oceanport.
Monmouth Park’s biggest event of the season, this festival includes a craft beer garden with over 40 beers to choose from and pair with the juiciest pulled pork, brisket and ribs the Jersey Shore has to offer. The Eatontown Labor Day 5K will be run Monday, Sept. 4. The 23rd annual race has three components: the Fitness Walk starts at 8:45 a.m., the one-mile run at 9 a.m. and the 5K run will start at 9:15 a.m.
