BRICK TOWNSHIP — Keshawn Wilson, 32, armed with a six-inch revolver, fired several rounds before he was fatally shot by four Brick Township Police officers who were responding to multiple reports of a domestic dispute Sunday.

The four officers, who have not been identified, responded to the 141 Meridian Drive residence Sunday, Aug. 20, after receiving seven 911 calls from neighbors — six reporting a domestic disturbance and one reporting domestic assault, according to a press release from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Upon arrival, the officers encountered Mr. Wilson, who was armed with a loaded six-inch revolver, at which time there was an exchange of gunfire in which Mr. Williams was killed.

According to Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, it appears all four officers discharged their weapons.

Witness statements, investigations and forensic evidence confirmed that Mr. Wilson fired several rounds from his revolver during the exchange, Mr. Della Fave said.

No officers were struck, however all four were transported to an unspecified area hospital for evaluation, according to Mr. Della Fave.

An investigation by the prosecutor’s office determined that Mr. Wilson, a resident at the Meridian Drive home, assaulted a 31-year-old female and her 59-year-old mother. Neither victim was identified.

According to Mr. Della Fave, the 31-year old victim suffered lacerations and contusions to her head, eye and body, as well as injuries from a fall down stairs as she fled from Mr. Wilson.

The 59-year-old victim suffered an injury to her head while attempting to aid her daughter.

Also present at the time of the incident were the victim’s 31-year-old sister and her three children, ages 11, 7 and 11 months.

The mother, daughters and the 11 month old eventually barricaded themselves in a downstairs bedroom, at which time the 31-year-old victim escaped through a window and ran to a neighbor’s house for help, according to Mr. Della Fave.

Following the incident, all family members were examined for injuries and the two assault victims were transported to Ocean Medical Center in Brick.

The investigation into the fatal confrontation between Mr. Wilson and the responding officers is still ongoing. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit is the lead investigation agency, with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI and the Ocean County Medical Examiner.
