Triathlon for Autism set for Sunday Aug. 6

LAKE COMO — The Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquabike for Autism is set for this Sunday, Aug. 6 at 7 a.m. According to the event website, participants can opt to participate in the triathlon, duathlon, relay team triathlon, relay team duathlon or aquabike, with registration for each ending Aug. 4 at 11:59 p.m., EDT. Registration fees vary depending on which event participants choose. Donations are accepted for Surfer’s Healing Surf Camp for Autism in Belmar, which has a mission to “enrich the lives of people living with autism by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing,” the organization’s website reads. Anyone looking to donate can visit The race will take place at Silver Lake Park on Ocean Avenue between 5th and 6th avenues. The triathlon includes a quarter-mile ocean swim, 10.6 mile bike and a 5K run. The duathlon includes a two-mile run, 10.6 mile bike and 5k run. The aquabike includes a quarter-mile ocean swim and a 10.6 mile bike.
