BAY HEAD — The Bay Head Yacht Club will provide the runway when the Women’s Guild at All Saints Episcopal Church hosts its 33rd Annual Luncheon, Fashion Show and Card Party Aug. 10. The longstanding tradition, dating back more than six decades at the local church, was originally staged as a woman’s card party, however has remained a fashion show and luncheon that raises funds to support worthy causes. This year’s event will kick off at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Bay Head Yacht Club, located at 111 Metcalfe St. “It has been going on for more than 30 years which is just incredible,” Christine Kyse, publicity chair for the event, said in a recent interview. “It started out as a card party with several tables of bridge and the fashion show as well. Later on it became more of a fashion show and now it is primarily a luncheon, a fashion show, there is a gift auction and raffle and card party so it’s a lot of things in one.”
According to Ms. Kyse, while activities might have
grown, the purpose of the event has remained the same. “The event raises funds to support various outreach programs both in Bay Head and neighboring communities,” she said.
