Farmingdale woman killed in car accident

WALL TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old woman from Farmingdale was killed in a car accident early Friday morning, according to Wall Township police. At 2:40 a.m. on Friday, July 21, police officers responded to Atlantic Avenue near the Howell Township border after receiving a report of a fatal one-car motor vehicle accident, according to a statement issued by Lt. Greg Carpino of the Wall Township Police Department. The female driver, whose name has not been released, was operating a 2010 Nissan Sentra and traveling west on Atlantic Avenue when her vehicle left the road and struck several trees, the statement said. She was extricated from the vehicle by member of the South Wall and Glendola Fire departments. Wall Community EMS and Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Corporation [MONOC] also responded, according to statement. The accident resulted in Atlantic Avenue from West 18th Avenue to the Howell Township border being shut down for three hours.
