BOE approves new contract for schools superintendent

SPRING LAKE — The Spring Lake Board of Education approved a new, five-year contract for current Superintendent and Principal Raymond J. Boccuti at its meeting on Monday.

Mr. Boccuti’s new contract is effective from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2022.

“I really want to thank the board of education and all the stakeholders in the room, including the staff, this is really an honor,” said Mr. Boccuti. “I’ve really enjoyed the first year-and-a-half I have been here, we’ve started some very important initiatives and I really appreciate the support in helping see those through.

“The most enjoyable part is working with the kids here at Mountz, they really are special,” said Mr. Boccuti.

Mr. Boccuti was hired as the H.W. Mountz School superintendent on Jan. 1, 2016. His original contract was set to expire on June 30, 2020, however, “when we went through an exhaustive search and were lucky enough to find Dr. Boccuti,” said board president Vincent Daino, “we negotiated in his contract a stipulation that should the state’s salary caps be renegotiated or lifted, the board would renegotiate his contract.”
