LAKEWOOD — The Shore Baseball Coaches Association [SBCA] Senior All-Star Game was held Monday at FirstEnergy Park, in Lakewood.

Five Ocean Star athletes were selected to play in Monday’s game, including: Point Beach’s Kevin Donnelly, Point Boro’s Tom Paul, Brick Memorial’s John Votta and Brick Township’s John Prato and Matt Stadelberger, all represented their schools on the National team.

“To be well known around the Shore Conference and get your name in here and playing this game, it’s a great honor and post-season accolade to have,” said Prato. “And to play one final game with some of the best guys in the Shore, it’s all fun and games but it’s an honor.”

The best of the best from Monmouth and Ocean county high school teams were split between the American and National team, with the American team taking the game 4-3.

The American team jumped in the lead scoring all four runs in the second, while the National team scored one run in the second, third and eighth innings.
