Beverly L. Johanson

Beverly L. Johanson [nee Bruno], 69, of Wall, passed away peacefully at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 2 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Johanson was a paralegal for 50 years working for the last 25 years for the Law Office of Michael Wilbert and John Flynn, Esqs. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School in Point Pleasant Beach and a 1960 graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School, where she was the class secretary and Captain of the cheerleaders. Born and raised in Point Pleasant Beach, she and her husband, Karl, have lived in Wall for many years.

Mrs. Johanson loved the beach, the boardwalk, and living on the Manasquan River. She also enjoyed her tap classes for 25 years at the Spring Lake School of Dance. Her loving ways, generous spirit, and great sense of humor will be sorely missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents James and Sarah Bruno. Surviving are her husband Karl G. Johanson of 48 years; daughters Cheryl L. Johanson, of Wall, and Kristin M. Doherty and her husband, Tom, of Englewood, Colo.; brother Ralph Bruno and his wife Nancy, of Point Pleasant Beach; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services were under the direction of O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant Beach with entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery in Sea Girt.
