And They’re Off! Boys Soccer Kicks Off Today
Local boys soccer teams looking to get season off on the right foot
MANASQUAN — The Manasquan Warriors are coming off a great 2011 season, in which they won their division, and hope to carry the momentum into 2012.
The team kicks off its regular season today, hosting Red Bank Catholic for a 4 p.m. home game.
Manasquan will remain busy the rest of the week.
The team will host Lakewood at 10 a.m. on Saturday and travel to Raritan for a 4 p.m. game on Monday before finishing the week by hosting St. John Vianney at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

WALL OPENS WITH
RED BANK REGIONAL
Wall is looking to get back to the top of the Shore Conference ranks in 2012 and begins its quest today against Red Bank Regional. The Crimson Knights will travel to Red Bank to open the regular season against the Bucs, with the game scheduled to start at 3:45 p.m.
Following a day off, the team will be back in action Saturday, taking part in its annual game against local rival St. Rose at 1 p.m. The matchup between the Crimson Knights and the Purple Roses will have a different feel this season, as the game that is historically played under the lights at Wall High School is moved to the Edward I. Brown Athletic Complex in Wall, the home of the Purple Roses. The two teams will now alternate hosting the annual matchup [see related story].
Monday, Wall will be home for the first time in 2012, hosting the Ocean Township Spartans. The Crimson Knights and the Spartans will get underway at 3:45 p.m.
The Crimson Knights will finish their week back on the road, traveling to Long Branch High School for a 4 p.m. game against the Green Wave.

ST. ROSE TO BATTLE MATER DEI
The Dan White era officially begins at St. Rose today, as the first-year head coach leads his Purple Roses onto the field against Mater Dei High School.
The game between St. Rose and the Seraphs is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. and will be held at Mater Dei.
Saturday, the Purple Roses will host local rival Wall in the annual battle between the two schools [see related pre-game article].
Monday, St. Rose will be back on the road, traveling to Ranney School for a 3:45 p.m. matchup. The purple and gold finish their opening week of play by hosting the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls for a 3:45 p.m. game at the Edward I. Brown Athletic Complex.
