Robert Edward Sexton
Robert Edward Sexton, formerly of Brielle, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, June 24.
From his childhood in Jersey City, his service as a Marine in World War II, to his long professional and civic activities, God, family and country were his polestars. Although he had many accomplishments such as founding the first Obstetrics and Gynecology practice in the area, Sexton, Brooks and Evans, being Chief of Staff at the hospital, president of the Manasquan River Brielle Golf Club in Brielle, and Irishman of the Year, Robert considered his greatest achievement to be that he had been married to Jane for 58 years and had been blessed to watch their children’s children grow in wisdom and grace. After a full life wherein he bravely tackled many physical illnesses, Robert was prepared for the end and had could say with certainty: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
He was the beloved husband of Jane [nee Begley], devoted father to Brian, Durr, Daniel, Ellen, and Thomas, dear grandfather to Sean, Katie, Scott, Kelsey, Nicholas, Rodney Robert, Mathew, Tess, Andrew, and Meg, beloved father-in-law to Dana, Nadezhda, Kathleen, and Patricia and beloved son- in-law Harold Boade, beloved brother-in-law to Elaine, Ann, Kevin, Mary Margaret and devoted uncle and cousin to scores.
The wake will be held on Friday, June 29 at the Orender Funeral Home in Manasquan. A more complete obituary can be found at Orenderfamilyhome.net.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday morning, 11 a.m. at St. Denis Church, Manasquan, with internment following in Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle.

Suzanne Nancy Holiday
Suzanne Nancy Holiday [Califano], 59, of Point Pleasant, passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Princeton, she is a former resident of Tinton Falls before recently moving to Point Pleasant.
Her friends and family know her as “Bunny.” She loved cooking [her cupcakes are a thing of legend] and watching movies. Never would she miss a good dinner or a good laugh. She was both giving and forgiving. Her warmth and willingness to take care of others touched all those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Suzanne Munn Califano.
Surviving are her beloved children, Charles Holiday, Shelby Ruch, and Jackie Ruch, her dear brothers Alfred Califano, Gregory Califano, and Gary Califano, and her cherished granddaughter Vivienne Suzanne Ruch.

Gregg C. Thomulka
Gregg C. Thomulka, 56, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, June 21.
Born in Mount Holly, to the late George Thomulka and Grace Beebe Thomulka, he lived in Manasquan, for 25 years, and moved to Point Pleasant six years ago.
Gregg was a graduate of Rutgers University and communicant of Saint Denis Church, Manasquan.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Annemarie Koster; and was a wonderful father to his son, Geoffrey, and his daughter, Jessica.

Hope Clayton Walker
Hope Clayton Walker, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away, Friday, June 22, at her home.
Mrs. Walker lived in Point Pleasant for most of her life and was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School.
She was predeceased by her parents, Percy & Wilma Clayton and by two sisters, Emily and Beatrice.
Surviving are her beloved husband, of nearly 73 years, Robert W. Walker; her son, Robert W. Walker, Jr. and his wife Diane of Melfa, Va.; her daughter, Shirley Anderson and her husband Robert, of Lakewood; seven grandchildren, Joann, Robert, Wendy, Deanna, Robert, Cheryl, and Denise; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

Steven W. Dowling
Steven W. Dowling, 55, of St. Petersburg, Fla., with family in Point Pleasant Beach, passed away suddenly at home on June 22.
Steven was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant until 1997, before moving to Florida. He was employed by RadTank, Inc. as a Sales and Warehouse Manager. Steven was dearly loved by his family. They will forever miss his humor and loving ways. Steven’s passion in life was coaching football as he served as a volunteer coach for The Golden Elks Pop Warner Football Association for 22 years of his life.
He is survived by his mother Eileen Clayton; daughter Shawn Shumbris and her husband Greg; grandson Zachary, his brother James; three sisters Lynda Murphy and husband Joe, Dianne Cooper and husband Bob, and Jeanne Crawford and husband Scott; his godson Thomas Crawford; and three nieces Nicole and Kaitlyn Cooper and Lauren Crawford; Gloria Dowling and her son, Jason.
Steven was predeceased by his father James Dowling.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, July 1, from 2-4 p.m. at Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. A memorial service will be offered on Monday, July 2 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
