Batter up! Fire company to host pancake breakfast on Sunday
The event will be held at the Fire House beginning at 8 a.m.
SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS — Get ready to bust out the spatulas and syrup.
The Spring Lake Heights Independent Fire Company will host its monthly pancake breakfast this Sunday, July 1 at 8 a.m. at the Spring Lake Heights Firehouse on Sixth Avenue.
The event will boast a bevy of breakfast delights, such as pancakes, coffee and juice. The cost is $6 per person, with children under the age of 5 admitted for free.
Chief Casey Willms said the company hosts the breakfast each month throughout the summer, concluding in September. He added the company hopes to see a large turnout from members of the community.
“We’ve been doing this for a few years, and it always gets a little bigger as the summer goes on,” he said. “We hope to see a lot of people come out.”
All funds raised from the breakfast will go toward the operation and maintenance of the firehouse, he said.
