BAY HEAD — Hundreds of local residents and visitors to Bay Head seemed happy as a clam during a weekend fundraising event benefiting the borough’s fire department.

MANASQUAN — Mary Farmer was surprised to learn she was the “winner” in a $550,000 sweepstakes, but her reaction turned sour when she discovered the notification letter was actually an attempt to scam her out of nearly $9,000.

Last week, Mrs. Farmer, who lives on Captains Court, received a letter in the mail from “Joey G. Field,” a self-described “promotions manager with “Union Disbursement Inc., in Williston, Vermont.”

SEA GIRT — A Wall Township man is facing multiple charges after crashing his SUV into a taxi cab near the Parker House last Friday night.
