The historical society will hold its annual membership meeting. The event will include a presentation “Silent Maid - A Cat Boat History,” given by author Ken Mountford. Silent Maid is a catboat that figures into the lives of seven families, Mr. Mountford’s book is about those seven families and how each was impacted by the boat. The author is also an environmental scientist, sailor, historian as well as an author. The event is free and open to the public.

Celebration and Benefit for Local Indie Film

Enjoy a cocktail reception and silent auction to benefit the poignant and uplifting new film, “Tonight and Every Night.” Set in a small beach town over the course of one long and fateful day, this new narrative short tells the story of an eccentric elderly gentleman suffering from dementia, who comes to the aid of a lonely and lost little boy. To be filmed in early September in Spring Lake and Asbury Park by director Christina Eliopoulos and sponsored by New York Women Film & Television. Meet the filmmakers, enjoy finger food and your choice of beer, wine or a special "cinematini" cocktail. Live music. Silent auction. Fun and prizes. And receive a guest pass to the film's debut screening at the Spring Lake Theatre later this Fall. All proceeds to towards the production of the film and your contribution will be deductible through NYWIFT. RSVP by June 23.

The orchestra, founded in 1986, will feature selections from symphony to opera, Broadway to Americana. Joining the 45 musicians that are soprano Victoria Cannizzo and tenor Matthew Brown.
