The club will discuss “The Glass Castle: A Memoir,” written by Jeannette Walls.

The high school’s vocal department presents “Come Together,” a evening of entire Beatles music. Students will perform as soloists, in ensembles and all music will be played live. Donations will be collected for the vocal department. The cost is a $3 donation.

The First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan will host its annual Spring Rummage and Household Sale from May 17-19. This year there will be an expanded household sale at 24 Virginia Ave. Adult and children's spring and summer clothing will also be featured along with a bake sale. Lunch will be available on Thursday. 

Sale hours are as follows: Thursday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday will include a $5 big bag sale.

The day will include finger sandwiches, scones, sweets and, of course, lots of tea. Please remember to bring your favorite tea cup. Tea party hats are optional. Cost is $15.

There will be no charge for a cup of lemonade, but donations will be accepted and will go towards a Central School family in need. Anyone unable to attend the even, but would still like to make a donation, it can be done at the Central School main office during normal school hours.

There will be amusements, games, rock wall climbs, basket raffles, face painting and food.

The annual town-wide yard sale in Lake Como, which is being held in conjunction with Belmar, is approaching. Participants can pick up yard sale applications at Lake Como Borough Hall or online at www.lakecomonj.org. Applications should be completed and submitted to the Lake Como Borough Hall by April 23. Late applications are accepted; however, they may not appear on the particpants list.

The Brielle Community Band will perform their Spring concert in the church sanctuary. Come and support the band under the direction of Mr. Tim Prol.

Registration starts at 3:30 p.m. Registration is online at www.cctakesteps.org/belmar.

Chris Pinnella, who is currently on tour with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, will be performing at the last concert in a series sponsored by the church. Mr. Pinnella is a graduate of Manasquan High School and will be perform his own interpretations of Broadway show tunes accompanied by piano, bass and drums. Admission is free.

The Haiti Mission Team of the First Baptist Church will be holding a car wash on Sunday. Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to fund the team's July trip to Haiti where they will be involved in building rubble homes for those devastated by the 2009 earthquake.

Experience what life was like in a 19th century industrial village. Learn about blacksmithing, carpentry and tinsmithing from experienced tradespeople, help the villagers with their chores, see reenactments, and tour the historic buildings.
