Part-Time Reporter/Editorial Assistant
Star News Group, has a 20-23 hour, per week reporter/editorial assistant position open.
Position is four days a week. Position requires some of those hours spent covering night municipal meetings and an occasional weekend day. The successful candidate will cover police, municipal and school news, as well as other features and breaking news in one municipality. In addition, the person hired for this position will be responsible for obituaries, letters to the editor and milestones, as well as other assignments at their supervisor's request.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, political science, communications or a related degree.

Full Time Reporter
Star News Group, Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach, is seeking a full time beat reporter. Successful candidate must have a journalism or related degree. Experience is helpful, but recent college graduates who have studied journalism, English or a related subject area will be considered.
Duties include covering police, school and municipal news, as well as features. Work week also requires covering night municipal meetings and one weekend day every eight weeks. Competitive salary, Simple IRA, vacation, benefits.

Website Assistant
Star News Group, Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach, is seeking a part-time Website Assistant.
The Website Assistant is responsible for the weekly upload of editorial content for starnewsgroup.com, the website of The Coast Star and The Ocean Star, and will work approximately 6 hours on Wednesday and 4 hours on Thursday.
The successful candidate will be able to quickly learn to do these uploads with speed and accuracy. Experience with Macintosh computers is preferred.
Experience with a video camera and editing is helpful, but not required. College degree in journalism, English, or related degree is a plus, but not required for this position.
The Website Assistant's schedule will center around uploading the weekly issues of The Coast Star and The Ocean Star; however, other web duties may be assigned.
