Pit bull shot in Manasquan during police investigation is euthanized
MANASQUAN — Four local men are facing drug-related charges after they were arrested at a Brielle Road home in the borough Wednesday afternoon.
According to First Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni, officials were conducting an investigation at 500 Brielle Road, where the arrests took place.

Beach cop’s pay in 2011: $200,000
POINT PLEASANT BEACH — In 2011, Point Pleasant Beach Police Lt. Robert Dikun earned $61,428 in overtime pay and $8,786 in compensation pay, bringing his total earnings — including his salary — for 2011 to just over $196,000, according to police department records supplied by borough hall.
The entire full-time police department of 21 officers earned just over $252,000 in overtime and compensation pay in 2011.

Community mourns loss of O’Hare
MANASQUAN — Former Manasquan councilman and community volunteer Eden “Skeets” O’Hare died early Tuesday morning.
He was 87 years old.
